My Story…

Hi everyone!

This year, I’m excited to be running my 4th Falmouth Road Race with Tommy’s Place, and even more excited that my sister Kathryn will be joining the team for her first road race! Together, we’re raising money for this incredible nonprofit organization.

Tommy’s Place serves as a vacation home on the cape for children and their families battling cancer. It serves as a place to rest, make memories, and simply enjoy time together during an incredibly difficult journey.

This disease hits far too close to home for so many of us. This summer, we run in honor of all those who have faced or are currently facing cancer. We also run in memory of our Aunt Liesl and her hard-fought battle. Tommy’s Place meant so much to her, and we know she would be thrilled to see how far the organization has come. Its growth is truly a reflection of the kindness of so many people, something she always believed in, “Because Nice Matters.”

Tommy's Place Provides Over 100 Free Vacations Per Year on Cape Cod!

Tommy's Place owns and operates two 10+ bedroom year-round magical vacation homes for kids fighting cancer.  The homes are located in Falmouth and Centerville on Cape Cod. One family at a time, along with their extended family and friends, visits for a one week, free of charge, dream vacation to relax, make memories and most importantly have FUN!

Tommy's Place homes are equipped with inground swimming pools, game rooms, movie theatres, home taverns, arts + crafts rooms, music rooms, chef's kitchens, and much, much more.  A magical experience for the entire family! 
 
Since opening in July of 2021, nearly 300 families have vacationed at one of the Tommy's Place homes. In 2024, Tommy's Place began offering 104 magical vacations per year at its two vacation homes. Tommy's Place receives guest referrals from 11 New England children's hospitals and all families are placed through a lottery system. Guests are aged 3-17, actively being treated for pediatric cancer, and living permanently and full-time in New England.
