My Story…

She Survived. She Stayed Sober. She’s Running Again.

In 2013, I made a decision that saved my life — I got sober.

I left Boston and came to Cape Cod for a fresh start. That’s where I met Bill Dougherty and found Recovery Without Walls — a nonprofit that helps women in recovery rebuild their lives. It’s free. It’s volunteer-run. And it’s powered by women who have lived it.
RWW didn’t just support me. It helped shape the woman I became.
I ran the Falmouth Road Race many years in a row to support this mission. In 2015, I stood on that starting line — and had a heart attack. Six days later, I had open heart surgery.

But here’s the thing about recovery — we don’t quit.

I fought my way back. I stayed sober. I kept showing up. And now, on RWW’s 20th anniversary, I’m going back to that starting line.

This time, I’m not just running a race.
I’m running as proof that second chances are real.I’m running for the women still fighting.I’m running for the ones who don’t know yet that they’re going to make it.I’m running because Recovery Without Walls gave me community, strength, and a foundation when I needed it most.

And now I want to give back in a big way.
If you believe in redemption. If you believe in women lifting each other up.If you believe that recovery works.

Help me raise funds for Recovery Without Walls.
This isn’t just a fundraiser.It’s a full-circle comeback.

From sober in 2013…To open heart surgery in 2015…To the starting line again in 2026.

Sobriety saved my life.

Community rebuilt it.

Now I run for the women still fighting.

My heart stopped.My purpose didn’t.
Let’s make this one count. 💛🔥
