OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!
Team KG58 is running in memory of Kevin Gosnell, who tragically lost his life to ALS at the age of 48.
We are running the 2026 Falmouth Road Race not only for Kevin, but also for the family members and friends we have lost to ALS, and for the incredible people who continue to battle this horrific disease every single day.
Our team: Shannon Gosnell, Scott Gosnell, Cole Sullivan, Joe Manning, Pat Yale, John McMillian, Kaitlyn McMillan, Kayla McCarthy, Tracy Fry, Jen Kelly
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)—also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig’s disease—is a devastating illness that causes the progressive death of the neurons that control voluntary muscles. ALS slowly robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is only 3–5 years.
Shortly after Kevin was diagnosed, he began the work to create a foundation called ALS ONE. ALS ONE supports doctors, nurses, researchers, and ALS clinics at MGH, UMass, and ALS TDI. The foundation works in collaboration with the ALS Network to raise funds that advance groundbreaking research and improve care for people living with ALS.
A portion of the funds raised also supports Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals diagnosed with ALS, along with their families and communities, navigate the physical and emotional challenges of this disease.
Every step we run is for the steps Kevin and so many others with ALS can no longer take.
We run because we have the ability to run—something this disease cruelly takes away.
If you would like to support our team and help make a difference, please consider making a donation.
Thank you for your support.
