Why I'm running for Mothers' Milk Bank Northeast
I’m running the Falmouth Road Race this August to support the Mother’s Milk Bank Northeast.
My wife and I welcomed our son almost four weeks early this past December. While breastfeeding was getting established we were given the option of donor milk from the Mother’s Milk Bank Northeast. This was a great resource to have those first few weeks to give him the best nutrition possible. I’m excited to be able to give back by raising money in support of the Mother’s Milk Bank Northeast and to raise awareness of the availability of donor milk for families in need.
Please consider donating to support this great resource which helps to provide babies with the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.
Description
Funds raised for Mothers' Milk Bank Northeast help to provide 1.5 million feedings annually for fragile infants.
"When my son was born, I felt like a failure. He was born too early; I failed at keeping him safely inside of me. My milk wasn't in yet and I couldn't even feed my baby. Then I was offered donor milk, and it felt like a group of other moms suddenly stood up beside me saying, 'We got you, you don't have to do this alone.' I can't begin to tell you what a difference that made for me and my little guy." -- Ashley and her son Ben - Milk recipient family
