Why I'm running for Mothers' Milk Bank Northeast
The Falmouth Road Race is more than just a historic and scenic run - it’s a tradition that brings people together to support causes that make a real impact. This year, I’m proud to be running in support of Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, an organization that does incredible work providing lifesaving donor milk to fragile babies in need.
When our son was born, we had a brief experience needing donor milk, and we were fortunate to have access to it. But many families face much greater challenges, and for some newborns, especially premature or medically vulnerable babies, donor milk can be critical to their survival and health. Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast ensures that these babies get the nourishment they need when their own mother’s milk isn’t available.
By running and fundraising for this cause, I hope to help them continue their mission and expand their reach to more families who need their support. The Falmouth Road Race is the perfect venue to raise both money and awareness for this important work, bringing together a community that believes in giving back.
Every donation helps provide donor milk to the most vulnerable babies. If you’re able, I’d be grateful for your support in helping Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast continue making a difference.
💙 Thank you for your support! 💙
Description
Funds raised for Mothers' Milk Bank Northeast help to provide 1.5 million feedings annually for fragile infants.
"When my son was born, I felt like a failure. He was born too early; I failed at keeping him safely inside of me. My milk wasn't in yet and I couldn't even feed my baby. Then I was offered donor milk, and it felt like a group of other moms suddenly stood up beside me saying, 'We got you, you don't have to do this alone.' I can't begin to tell you what a difference that made for me and my little guy." -- Ashley and her son Ben - Milk recipient family
