Help Nancy raise money

 Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. This is our 8th year raising funds for ALS in loving memory of David Bernardinelli and Susan Harlfinger.

David was a dear friend to both of us—he met Jon through work and Nancy in college. Not only did he introduce us, but he also officiated our wedding. To say he was a dear friend doesn’t begin to capture the place he continues to hold in our hearts. The below is an excerpt from David’s obituary, and we couldn’t have said it better:

“David’s happiness in simple pleasures was contagious. He loved walks by the ocean, making his house a wonderful home, morning coffee and backgammon tournaments with his husband, feeding the birds in his backyard, old music and movies, a good book at bedtime, and Sunday visits with both of his families. He exemplified the joy to be found by just living in the moment, and that is the legacy he leaves.”

Susan was a beloved family friend and an “aunt” to Nancy. Her smile could light up any room, and one of her many gifts was making everyone feel truly special. She raised two incredible boys, loved her dog Dusty like her third child, and cared deeply for everyone around her. Susan was beautiful, energetic, enthusiastic, and incredibly hardworking—her spark was unmatched and contagious. She fought a long, courageous battle with ALS, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy.

This is our why—why we continue to fundraise for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for ALS.
