My Story…
Team TJ Strong is proud to be running the Falmouth Road Race this August with MitoAction to raise awareness and critical funds for mitochondrial disease.
Our “why” is TJ who was diagnosed with MELAS after suffering two strokes in his early 20s. Since then, we’ve watched this disease slowly take pieces of his independence, his health, and the life he once knew. What started as something we had never even heard of has become something that impacts every single day of our lives.
But through all of it, TJ is still TJ. He is a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a friend — and he continues to show strength in ways most people will never fully see or understand. He inspires us every day, not because this is easy, but because he keeps going even when it’s not.
We’re running for him — for safer days, for more time, for moments of connection that mean everything. And we’re running for every family navigating mitochondrial disease, hoping for better treatments and a different future.
If you’re able to support in any way — whether by donating, sharing, or cheering us on — it truly means more than we can put into words.
Let’s do this together. TJ STRONG💚
