I'm raising money to help people and families with autism live life to the fullest!
This August, I'll be running the 2026 Falmouth Road Race as a member of Dougie's Team in support of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
This run is especially meaningful to me because I am running in honor of EmmaKate Marshall, an extraordinary young woman whom I have had the privilege of knowing and loving since the day she was born.
EmmaKate is joyful, talented, compassionate, and incredibly funny. She is also open and honest about the challenges that come with being on the autism spectrum, including managing anxiety, navigating overwhelming situations, and finding where she fits in. Through it all, she continues to inspire everyone around her with her courage, authenticity, and determination.
For individuals with autism and their families, there is no finish line. The journey is lifelong, and access to resources, opportunities, and a supportive community can make all the difference. That's why organizations like the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism are so important. Through programs, grants, and advocacy, they help individuals with autism live fuller, more independent, and connected lives.
I am honored to run in support of this mission and in celebration of EmmaKate.
Thank you for considering a donation to my fundraising efforts. Every gift, no matter the size, helps create opportunities and support for individuals and families affected by autism.
With sincere gratitude,
Tara

Former NFL Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his wife Laurie started the Doug Flutie, Jr. Flutie Foundation for Autism in 1998 after their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Their personal experience of raising a son on the autism spectrum inspired them to help others on an equally long and challenging journey. Over its 28-year history, the Flutie Foundation has distributed over $25 million to schools and organizations that provide clinical therapies, respite services, recreational programs, social skills training, job supports and more for people affected by autism.
The Flutie Foundation also provides education technology tools, adaptive camp scholarships, safety equipment, and direct family support through its special programs. The Flutie Foundation’s newest initiative, Flutie Spectrum Enterprises, will help create businesses to employ adults with autism.
