My Story…
My First Ever Falmouth Road Race! My name is Mikala and I have officially signed up for the road race. Yes, I willingly chose to run 7 miles in August. In Massachusetts. On purpose!
I am running to support School on Wheels, an incredible organization that provides academic support, tutoring, and essential supplies to students experiencing homeslessness. Their work changes lives- and if I can help even a little (while sweating a lot), I'm all in!
Since this is my debut as a "runner for a cause" I am embracing the full experience:
Training runs where I question my life choices
Carb-loading likes its a sport
And reminding myself that the kids School on Wheels serves show more resilience every day than I will on a hill in Falmouth.
