My Story…
Hi! I'm Mike and I've somehow found myself signed up for my first- ever Falmouth Road Race and my first-ever fundraiser. If you're wondering how this happened, honestly, same. One minute I was nodding along supportively, and the next minute I was lacing up my running shoes and Googling "how far is 7 miles really."
I am running to support School on Wheels, an incredible organization that provides tutoring, mentoring, and essential supplies to students experiencing homeslessness. Their work is powerful- and if running in the August humidity is what it takes to also be powerful, I'm in.
As a first-timer I am fully ready to embrace the full experience.
Training runs where I question my life choices
Sweating in places I didnt know I could sweat
and Reminding myself that the kids this organization serves show more grit every day than I will on race day.
Your support-whether its a donation, a cheer, a share, or a "you've got this" text- means so much. Thank you for helping me do something meaningful...and for giving me one more reason to not bail on my training!
Here's to running for a cause, surviving the hills and proving that even rookies can make an impact!
