My Story…
My name is Jeff Carreiro and I am excited to be fundraising for the Bishstrong foundation. My connection to BishStrong stems from growing up in Dartmouth and playing baseball with DJ. From DYAA, Dartmouth High School and Dartmouth Legion I always enjoyed competing on the field with DJ. Over the last few years I have competed in the annual Bishstrong softball tournament (even though my team is 1-8 all time) and it has allowed my to stay connected to DJ and his organization. Seeing DJ's resiliency, toughness and his motivation to help others makes me really proud to support Bishstrong.
Seeing the impact of Bishstrong's work and the individual dedication that DJ has put into his recovery is my inspiration to run the Falmouth Road race. Being active is really important to me and the work that DJ's foundation is doing to help others access and active lifestyle has always resonated with me. I am grateful to have an opportunity to support their cause and appreciate any support to my fundraising goal!
Description
The Bishstrong Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which aims to inspire and encourage individuals with spinal cord injuries and those living with paralysis to remain active. Our foundation provides resources aimed at helping individuals to become more independent and lead healthy fulfilling lifestyles. Through fundraising we provide financial assistance grants to assist in the purchase of vitally necessary adaptive equipment.
