I'm so excited to be running my first Falmouth Road Race with Team Home Base!

Home Base is dedicated to healing Veterans and their families of the invisible wounds of war and military service. A national nonprofit founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and the Boston Red Sox, Home Base provides world-class care to military members and their loved ones, completely free of cost.

This mission is deeply personal to me, as Home Base supported my family through four deployments, over half a dozen moves, and decades of uncertainty that come with military life. Home Base provides healing, stability, and hope to the families who carry the weight of the world behind the scenes. They also create meaningful memories for military kids, including the opportunity to run the bases at Fenway Park (as pictured!).

I'm thrilled to be running in honor of my family, especially my grandfather, who began guarding the gates of Heaven last spring. A proud U.S. Marine and Bostonian with a 30-year career and Purple Heart from the Vietnam War, Papa lived a life defined by resilience, humility, and faith. I'll be thinking of him, my dad, and military families like ours as I channel my inner Devil Dog this August...
