I'm Running the Falmouth Road Race for Family Reach!
I chose to run and fundraise for Family Reach Foundation because supporting families facing cancer truly resonates with me on a personal level. After recently completing the Boston Marathon, I wanted the experience to go beyond a personal achievement and instead represent something meaningful that could make a tangible impact. As a member of the Emerging Leaders Committee for the Corey C. Griffin Foundation, philanthropy plays a significant role in both my personal and professional life, and I’m always looking for opportunities to support organizations that create real change.
My connection to Family Reach deepened after attending the Mt. Joy charity concert, where hearing firsthand stories from families supported by the foundation left a lasting impression. It was incredibly powerful to learn how Family Reach helps alleviate the often-overlooked financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis—allowing families to focus on care, recovery, and being together during such difficult times. That combination of emotional impact and practical support is what makes their mission so compelling to me, and I am proud to contribute to their work through my fundraising efforts.
Description
Family Reach is the only national nonprofit 501(c)(3) focused solely on helping people with cancer access food, housing, utilities, and transportation. Treatment requires more than medicine — families need a roof over their heads and food on their tables to survive. We work with patients, care teams, and community-based organizations to provide immediate and ongoing financial support for these basic needs. Together we’re challenging the systems that force people to choose between their health and their homes.
