My Story…
My name is Mia, and I am running the Falmouth Road Race in honor of my papa, Mark Lyon, who passed away on December 9, 2024, from a brain aneurysm.
He was more than just my grandfather, he was my best friend in this entire world. He was the person I could always count on, the one who made me laugh no matter what, and someone who showed me what unconditional love truly looks like. Losing him has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.
I’m running with Team BAF to honor his life and to turn my grief into something meaningful. Brain aneurysms can take loved ones suddenly and without warning, leaving families heartbroken, just like mine. By running this race, I hope to raise awareness, support research, and help prevent other families from experiencing this kind of loss.
Every mile I run is for my papa. For his strength, his love, and the incredible impact he had on my life. I carry him with me in every step.
I am also running for everyone affected by brain aneurysms, patients, survivors, and families who are navigating life after loss. You are not alone.

This year, I’m excited to be running in the Falmouth Road Race to support the Brain Aneurysm Foundation (BAF)! This cause is deeply important to me, and I’m dedicated to raising awareness, funding critical research, and helping those affected by brain aneurysms.

🔹 Every 18 minutes, an aneurysm ruptures—often with devastating effects
🔹 Awareness, research, and early detection can save lives
