My Story…
I am so lucky to be running the 2026 Falmouth Road Race with the Brain Injury Awareness Team because this cause is incredibly personal to me and my family. In May 2024, my dad suffered two strokes, an experience that changed our lives overnight. One day everything was normal, and the next we were facing hospitals, uncertainty, and a long road to recovery. Watching him fight through rehabilitation showed me what true strength and resilience look like. I am incredibly grateful to say that he is doing well today, but our family will never forget how serious and life-changing brain injuries can be.
Running this race is my way of honoring everything he went through and everything our family learned during that time. It is also a way for me to contribute to something bigger than myself by helping raise awareness and support for individuals and families who are currently facing brain injuries and strokes, including pediatric patients that I care for every day. Many families do not have the same outcomes we were fortunate to have, and organizations that support brain injury research, recovery, and awareness are incredibly important.
The Falmouth Road Race is an iconic and meaningful event, and it means a great deal to me to run it not just for myself, but for my dad, for my family, my patients and for everyone affected by brain injuries. I am proud to represent the Brain Injury Awareness Team and use this opportunity to raise awareness, fundraise, and run with purpose.
