My Story…
This August, I’m so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race with the Ryan Richards Foundation!
Ryan passed away at the age of 40 from a rare and aggressive cancer, NUT Midline Carcinoma. In his honor, his family founded the Ryan Richards Foundation to carry on his positive energy and impact. The foundation supports local families battling cancer, funds rare cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and provides scholarships to graduating seniors at Falmouth High School.
Similar to Ryan, Falmouth also holds a special place in my heart! After my sophomore year at Boston College, my mom and I took a trip to Falmouth together. We stayed at a small Inn that she had visited with her parents when she was around my age. We spent the weekend reminiscing on her memories while creating new ones of our own.
Little did I know that just two years later, I would be running this race alongside some of my best friends from Boston College, along the very road that meant so much during that trip with my mom.
Being able to connect such a personal memory with a cause that supports families and advances cancer research makes this experience incredibly meaningful to me. Thank you so much for your support!
