My Story…
Hi everyone! My name is Bridget, and this will be my second year running with the Project Sweet Peas Falmouth Road Race team. I’m so excited to be heading back to the Cape this August, and even more grateful for the opportunity to fundraise for such a meaningful cause.
I work as a NICU RN at Yale New Haven Hospital, and my role has shaped my passion for this patient population in a very profound way. Each day, I’m moved by the strength of the babies and the resilience of their families, and I’m endlessly grateful for my incredible coworkers who are a constant source of support, compassion, and guidance in their care. Project Sweet Peas plays such an important role in this space, not only supporting parents through some of their most vulnerable moments, but also providing resources that help us as clinicians deliver the best care possible.
Running has become an important outlet for me—a way to decompress, stay grounded, and move my body with gratitude and humility. It’s something I’ve come to truly cherish, especially as I’ve found a growing sense of community through running in New Haven. Last year’s Falmouth Road Race was a pivotal moment in my journey as a runner, and since then I’ve completed both the Hartford Half Marathon and the Moosehead Lake Half Marathon, experiences that have only deepened my love for the sport.
I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead with this race and so grateful to be able to combine running with supporting a cause that means so much to me and so many families. Thank you all for your support—it truly means the world. 🤍
