Help Lynette raise money

On August 16, I'll be running the 2026 ASICS Falmouth Road Race in honor of my son, Andy. Just a few weeks later, on September 11, he would have celebrated his 10th birthday. I'm running to raise money for Courageous Parents Network, an organization that helped my family through the hardest chapter of our lives.

When I was pregnant with Andy in 2016, everything looked perfect. Every test and ultrasound told us we were expecting a healthy baby. But the day Andy was born, our world changed forever. He was diagnosed with Neonatal Marfan Syndrome, an extremely rare, life-limiting connective tissue disorder.

Overnight, we found ourselves navigating feeding tubes, oxygen, BiPAP support, countless hospital stays, and impossible medical decisions. We spent months at Boston Children's Hospital while learning how to care for a medically complex child and grieving the future we thought we'd have.

It was there that we found Courageous Parents Network.

Their resources became a lifeline. They helped us understand difficult treatment decisions, prepare for conversations with Andy's medical team, and navigate the emotional realities of parenting a child with a life-limiting illness. Most importantly, they reminded us that we weren't alone.

Andy passed away shortly after his third birthday in October 2019.

His body wasn't built to last, but his spirit was extraordinary. Andy was incredibly smart, hilarious, patient and so full of love. Despite everything his body endured, he found joy in life and brought it to everyone around him. He continues to inspire me every single day, and we miss him beyond words.

I'm running Falmouth to celebrate Andy's life and honor what would have been his 10th birthday. Every dollar raised will help Courageous Parents Network continue supporting families facing the unimaginable with compassion, guidance, and hope—just as they did for ours.
