My Story…

Year over year I try to come up with new words to describe my motivation for running the Falmouth Road Race. This year, like in years past, I am running to support the National Pancreas Foundation in honor of my step-dad, Kevin O'Keefe, who was taken from us too soon by Pancreatic Cancer.

Ive grown very fond of this effort. It allows me to reconnect with him through the fundraising, training, and actual race. Ive made a lot of effort this year to get my fitness back and look forward to performing well this year. I know Kevin cheers me on from heaven above and I hope you will too and show your support with any donation you can spare. It means the world to me.

Description

The National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care, treatment and finding a cure for those with pancreas disease: pancreatic cancer, and pediatric and adult pancreatitis. NPF has 27 years of experience and over 30 patient and provider programs serving patients, caregivers, and medical professionals. NPF is the only charitable organization that is dedicated to addressing all diseases of the pancreas.

Mission: The National Pancreas Foundation provides hope for those suffering from pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer through funding cutting edge research, advocating for new and better therapies, and providing support and education for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals.

Walker transforms the lives of children and young adults who are facing complex emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges by partnering with these children, their families, and communities to nurture hope, build strengths, and develop lifelong skills.

Funds raised by our Falmouth Road Race team will benefit Walker's Annual Fund, which supports our mission and full array of educational, therapeutic, and community-based services. By supporting Team Walker, you are helping our community's most vulnerable young people achieve academic goals and emotional progress, strengthening families as they build connections, and providing resources for many who are facing complex mental health issues.
