My Story…

I’m running this race in support of Tommy’s Place Foundation, a place that truly changes lives.

Tommy’s Place provides completely free, week-long dream vacations on Cape Cod for children fighting cancer and their families. It gives them something they don’t get nearly enough of during treatment. Time to breathe, laugh, and just be a family again. 

Our family had the privilege of staying there over Thanksgiving 2025, to celebrate my niece, Giovanna. At just 4 years old, she spent months in the hospital battling a very rare disease. Watching her fight with that kind of strength at such a young age changed all of us.

That trip wasn’t just a getaway. It was a moment to celebrate her life, her healing, and everything she overcame. Today, she is healthy, and we feel beyond blessed.

I’m running for families who are still in the middle of that fight. The ones sitting in hospital rooms, waiting, hoping, and holding it together for their children.

And most of all, I’m running for Giovanna. She is our inspiration. Her strength, her joy, and her resilience remind us what truly matters.

This run is for Giovanna, for every child still fighting, and for every family holding on.

Tommy's Place Provides Over 100 Free Vacations Per Year on Cape Cod!

Tommy's Place owns and operates two 10+ bedroom year-round magical vacation homes for kids fighting cancer.  The homes are located in Falmouth and Centerville on Cape Cod. One family at a time, along with their extended family and friends, visits for a one week, free of charge, dream vacation to relax, make memories and most importantly have FUN!

Tommy's Place homes are equipped with inground swimming pools, game rooms, movie theatres, home taverns, arts + crafts rooms, music rooms, chef's kitchens, and much, much more.  A magical experience for the entire family! 
 
Since opening in July of 2021, nearly 300 families have vacationed at one of the Tommy's Place homes. In 2024, Tommy's Place began offering 104 magical vacations per year at its two vacation homes. Tommy's Place receives guest referrals from 11 New England children's hospitals and all families are placed through a lottery system. Guests are aged 3-17, actively being treated for pediatric cancer, and living permanently and full-time in New England.
