My Story…
I am excited to share that I will be running in the Falmouth Road Race this year with the Boston Bulldogs Running Club. The Boston Bulldogs mission is to create a safe community for those affected by addiction, including people in recovery, their friends and families, and those who have lost someone to this insidious disease. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to run and raise funds for a cause that promotes wellness in recovery. My goal is to raise $1,500 in support of the Bulldogs community, which gives so much to others.
As someone who is in recovery, I understand the impact that addiction can have not only on the person but also on their family, friends, and loved ones. Learning about addiction and my disease has changed my life completely. I now know the effect it had on me and the people in my life. I have been affected by alcoholism and addiction in many ways. When I was 12, I lost my family friend Ryan Gillian to the disease of addiction. At that young age, I didn’t fully understand addiction; I only knew that my friend was in heaven and couldn’t understand why. After attending rehab and learning more about addiction and my disease, I often think about Ryan—his spirit, a 21-year-old soul who was taken too soon. I think about him often and cherish the memories of playing outside together when he was my neighbor. I also hope to raise awareness for a cause that deserves greater attention and to help reduce the stigma surrounding addiction.
Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated to support this wonderful community. No donation is too small. Thank you very much for taking the time to read and consider supporting this cause.
Description
We are honored to share the important mission and work of the Boston Bulldogs as our team gears up for the 2026 Falmouth Road Race. This opportunity allows us to raise awareness about addiction and work toward the healing and connection that so many of us need.
Through running and wellness programs, we build a safe, anonymous community for individuals adversely affected by addiction. Our community supports individuals in recovery, their families, friends, caregivers, and health professionals, to create healthy, connected lives.
Beyond the financial contributions, this also unites us around a shared purpose, creating a positive and collaborative atmosphere. The Bulldogs combine fun and community that results lasting change.
Thank you for your support and getting involved!
