My Story…
I have never had to look up from a stretcher to see the inside of a Boston MedFlight helicopter, but I know so many who have. I have never worked with Boston MedFlight but I know so many who have saved lives because of their quick response and never-ending support.
But as a resident of Martha's Vineyard, I know exactly what that flight means.
Living on an island, our sense of community is deep, but our isolation from major trauma centers is real. I look around our island and see faces of family, friends, and coworkers who are only here today because Boston MedFlight crossed the Sound when time was running out. I am filled with profound gratitude for the pilots, nurses, dispatchersand medics who fly into the night to bring Boston’s world-class ICU care straight to our isolated shores.
They are the invisible safety net that holds our island community together.
Because Boston MedFlight is a nonprofit organization that cares for patients regardless of their insurance or ability to pay, they rely on our support to keep flying. I am taking on the 7 miles of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race with a mission to raise $5,000 for this life-saving service.
Every dollar raised helps ensure that when the unexpected happens, this incredible team will always be ready to answer the call for our island. They have carried our community through its darkest hours—please help me reach my $5,000 goal so we can step up for them.
