I'm running the 54rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
As an oncology dietitian, I have the privilege of supporting patients through their treatment and survivorship. I see firsthand how cancer affects not only nutrition and health, but also emotional well-being, finances and daily life for patients and their families. Running for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) gives me an opportunity to extend my support beyond the clinic by helping raise funds for patients and caregivers facing the challenges of cancer treatment.
I am running the Falmouth Road Race for the JAF to help people focus on healing by easing some of the burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis. Raising funds for the JAF will contribute to financial assistance and joy provided to this community by the JAF.
Any donation, no matter the amount, is much appreciated and will go toward financial and food security grants for people in New England. Thank you so much for your support!
Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
