My Story…
This year I will be running my second Falmouth Road Race in support of the Last Call Foundation, a cause deeply close to my family’s heart. The foundation was created by Kathy Crosby-Bell in memory of her son, Firefighter Michael Kennedy, a former U.S. Marine who, along with Lieutenant Edward Walsh, tragically lost his life battling a nine-alarm fire in Boston’s Back Bay on March 26, 2014.
This tragedy shed light on the extraordinary risks firefighters face daily. The Last Call Foundation is dedicated to identifying and addressing these challenges, working tirelessly to improve the safety and effectiveness of firefighters as they protect our communities.
I’m especially proud to run for this organization. My mother and her brothers grew up with Mike, and many members of my family have served as firefighters and first responders. Supporting this foundation is a way to honor their service and help advance the safety, training, and resources available to the firefighting community.
