Why I’m Running the Falmouth Road Race—and Why I Need Your Help
Less than a year ago, I lined up in San Antonio to run my very first marathon.
Now, let me be clear: I am not an avid runner. I am not a naturally strong runner. But when I set my mind to something, I lock into a simple, unbreakable mindset:
BREATHE – You Got This!
Like the legendary origin of the marathon, I had a message to deliver—and I finished that race. It meant the world to me to run on behalf of an organization I helped shape from its very beginning.
Fast forward to three months ago: I tackled a Half Marathon in Westport, Massachusetts. Crossing that finish line at the beach where my family has built two decades of summer memories was incredibly special. Sharing that moment with colleagues who celebrated alongside me made it even more meaningful.
IYKYK: My body has been through a lot over the last five years, and I refuse to take a single step, stride, or mile for granted.
Which brings me to my next challenge: The Falmouth Road Race.
Famous for its sweeping Cape Cod views, grueling hills, and electric atmosphere, this race is iconic—but my reason for running goes far deeper than the pavement.
I am proud to be running in support of the Pete Frates ALS Foundation (PF3), and I hope you will consider making a donation. Every gift—large or small—helps provide meaningful assistance to families living with ALS.
This cause is deeply personal. I have watched families of people I know and love navigate the profound and overwhelming medical needs that this untreatable disease creates.
Named in honor of Boston College baseball captain and national advocate Pete Frates, PF3 provides direct financial assistance to progressed ALS patients and their families, helping cover the immense out-of-pocket costs of essential home healthcare. The foundation makes it possible for patients to remain safe, comfortable, and cared for at home.
My promise to you?
I will finish this race.
I will cross that finish line with immense gratitude, carrying the love of those who can no longer run and doing my part to bring vital resources to the families who need them most.
