My Story…
This year I'm running the Falmouth Road Race for Learn to Cope & I'd love your support! Running is a regular part of my life, and Falmouth is one of my favorite races. But this year I wanted to run it for a reason beyond the finish line.
Learn to Cope is a peer-led nonprofit that supports families and loved ones of people dealing with substance use disorder. Founded in 2004 by Joanne Peterson, a mother who experienced the same struggles herself, it has grown to 27 chapters across Massachusetts and an online community of over 12,000 members. Every week, families show up to meetings feeling lost and leave a little stronger, supported by people who genuinely know what they're going through.
What makes Learn to Cope stand out is that it's built by and for families. Trained volunteer facilitators run each chapter. Members learn from each other's real experiences.
Any donation you can make goes directly toward keeping those meetings running, those resources available, and that support in place for the next family that needs it. Thank you for considering!
