Help Elise K raise money

I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race with the Mass General Breast Cancer Research Team. As a pharmacist resident at Massachusetts General Hospital pursuing a career in oncology, I have cared for many patients navigating the uncertainty, difficult treatments, and grief that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. While these experiences shaped my passion for oncology, this fight became deeply personal when my mom was diagnosed with not one, but two forms of breast cancer shortly after I committed to pursuing a second residency year specializing in oncology.

Receiving that news alongside her gave me a completely new understanding of the fear and uncertainty that cancer brings, not only for patients, but also for the people who love them. Since then, she has endured surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with incredible strength and resilience. Although she received exceptional care at Massachusetts General Hospital, her journey has also highlighted for me how many unanswered questions and challenges still exist in breast cancer treatment.

Every day, I hold onto hope for continued progress and breakthroughs in cancer research, especially for breast cancer. I am honored to run in support of this mission and grateful for every donation that helps advance research and bring hope to patients and families!
