Help James raise money

Let me tell you why I’m raising money and running for Mass General Brigham.

My father, Jim Rogers, ran the Falmouth Road Race for many years, dating back to the early years of the race. Every year, my mother would bring my brother, sister, and me to the finish line to cheer him on. When I was old enough, I joined him, and running the race together became a special family tradition.

My father passed away last year. It was incredibly difficult for our entire family, especially my mother, Judy Rogers. Then, within that same year, my mother suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital after my aunt found her. We all rushed to her side in the emergency room as doctors worked to determine what was wrong.

Hours later, we learned she had a large brain tumor that had likely been growing for a long time. In that moment, we feared the worst. But thanks to the extraordinary team at Mass General Brigham and a successful brain surgery, my mom is doing well today.

My mother spent her career caring for others, first as an emergency room nurse and later as an ambulatory nurse. She cared for my father until the very end, and she has spent her entire life putting others before herself. She has always been a caregiver.

There are so many people who are suffering, including the caregivers who dedicate their lives to helping others. That’s why I’m running. I’m running for those suffering. I’m running for the caregivers. And most of all, I’m running for my mom.
