I'm so excited to have the opportunity to run with the Buzzards Bay Coalition for this year's Falmouth Road Race!

The Buzzards Bay Coalition supports ecological restoration in Buzzards Bay and the Vineyard Sound. They work to protect the regions's ecosystem, coastal and drinking water. 

One of the largest and most notable projects by Buzzards Bay Coalition is the purchase of Slocum-Gibbs Cranberry Company, a 1,652 acre property where wetlands and subdivision is now protected. This property spans from Carver, Wareham, Rochester, and Middleboro where it will benefit water quality in the Bay and provide wildlife with habitats. 35 acres will still be used for harvesting and the rest will be for recreational use.

My connection to Buzzards Bay is personal. I have always loved the outdoors and Upper Cape Cod holds a special place in my heart. I spend my summers in Pocasset swimming in the Bay and making lasting memories in a place that feels like home. Protecting this special place is important to me, so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Additionally, last summer, I had the privilege of interning with the Coalition as an Event Intern, and this year I am honored to continue my work as an Event Associate. Working alongside such dedicated individuals has been such a rewarding experience.
