My Story…
Running for Family: Support My Falmouth Road Race for MARE
This August, I am lacing up my running shoes for the Falmouth Road Race, but this isn't just about the seven miles of beautiful coastline. For my family, this specific course is where our story truly began.
21 years ago, my wife, Laura-Marie, and I were married on Road Race Day at St. Thomas Chapel, located right at the Mile 6 marker. Every time I pass that spot, I am reminded of the commitment we made to one another and the life we’ve built since that day.
The greatest joy of that life has been our three amazing sons: Shaw, Tannon, and Sawyer. Our family was built through the incredible gift of adoption, and all three of our boys joined our lives through this journey. We know firsthand the profound impact that a permanent, loving home has on a child’s life.
That is why I am running in support of the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE). MARE works tirelessly to find "forever families" for children in foster care who are waiting for a place to belong.
My goal is to raise funds that directly support MARE's mission of bridging the gap between children in foster care and adoptive secondary families. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure that more children can experience the love and stability that our sons have brought into our home.
Please consider supporting my run and this mission that means so much to us.
Description
Thank you for supporting my run to make life-changing connections for youth in foster care.
On August 16th, I'm running the 2026 ASICS Falmouth Road Race to support the work of the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange, Inc. MARE's mission is to build connections for youth in foster care with permanent and adoptive families.
Committed to providing children and teens in foster care with the support and love they need to thrive, MARE strives to connect each youth they serve with the permanent family they deserve. MARE offers guidance and support to families so they can provide their children with long-term stability, healing, and a sense of belonging.
To support MARE's mission, my goal is to raise $1,500 on behalf of the children and teens in Massachusetts foster care who have a goal of adoption, but no identified resource or family member to provide a permanent home.
Thank you for your donation! Together, we're bringing families together.
