As many of you know, my Father's life was extended thanks to a kidney donor. It was a grueling time for him and our family but when we got the call that a donor kidney was available, it made his remaining years as normal as they could be and allowed us to spend more time with him. As fate would have it, my Niece now runs the transplant unit at Lahey Clinic and see's first hand every day the impact that organic donation has when people selflessly participate.
I started running the Falmouth Road Race when I was 13 and ran for many years. It was an incredible summer tradition with family and friends. It has been a while since I laced up my sneakers for a race but am also inspired to run with Kyle who is running his first race this year to help raise money for NEBS.

New England Donor Services is the not-for-profit organization serving the region for organ and tissue donation. There are currently 6,500 patients waiting for an organ transplant in New England and countless others will require tissue to heal this year. With approximately half of the population registered donor, it's critical for more people to join the Donor Registry today.
