My Story…
I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of Massachusetts General Hospital and its mission to provide exceptional patient care, advance groundbreaking research, and improve the lives of patients and families. This is a deeply personal cause as I have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of the care provided at MGH.
In the spring of 2020, my dad, Francis, underwent brain surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital after suffering a stroke. He spent two weeks at MGH receiving world-class care from a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and specialists before being transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to continue his recovery. Due to pandemic restrictions, visitors were not allowed - my family and I relied on FaceTime calls to stay connected and support him during his recovery. Throughout his time at MGH, his care team was proactive in communicating his progress with our family.
The expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication of the team at MGH gave my dad an exceptional start on his recovery journey. Today, six years later, MGH remains an important part of his care, as he continues to return for regular appointments.
Watching my dad overcome such a life-changing experience showed me the impact that compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals can have on patients and their families. Knowing that my dad continues to receive world-class care has given my family peace of mind.
I am honored to run the Falmouth Road Race in support of Massachusetts General Hospital and help raise funds that will allow more patients and families to benefit from the extraordinary care.
