FROM ATHLETE TO COACH TO RUNNER: SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION THROUGH GOOD SPORTS

This year, I am honored to run the Falmouth Road Race in support of Good Sports, an organization dedicated to providing youth with the equipment and opportunities they need to participate in sports. Sports have been a HUGE part of my life as long as I can remember. As a self-proclaimed tomboy, I played just about everything I could basketball, softball, volleyball, flag football, and more. The lessons I learned through sports helped shape who I am today, teaching me teamwork, discipline, resilience, leadership, and confidence. My passion for sports didn't stop when my playing days ended. For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of coaching athletes from grade school through high school, including recreational, club, and AAU programs. I've witnessed firsthand how sports can transform a child's life building confidence, creating lifelong friendships, teaching perseverance, and providing a sense of belonging. Unfortunately, many young athletes don't have access to the equipment and resources needed to participate. That's why Good Sports' mission is so important. They help remove those barriers so that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to experience the life changing benefits of sports. As I train for the Falmouth Road Race, I'm also raising funds to help more kids get in the game. Every donation directly supports opportunities for young athletes play, grow and thrive.
