Once again I will be running 7.2 miles for OUR Hero’s through the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Foundation .

I will be taking on this iconic course Sunday August 16th . This race continues to bring me a deep sense of gratitude and honor for the legacy of US Marine Corporal Nicholas Xiarhos. 

Our team will raise critical funds for the NGX Foundation . Corporal Xiarhos made the ultimate sacrifice on July 23 , 2009 while rescuing his fellow Marines in Southern Afghanistan.

Today this foundation keeps his sacrifice and memory alive by providing a lifeline to those who serve and those who have served.

Every dollar raised goes directly to the foundation to fund essential community programs including :

EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS: Funding the “Keep Living the Dream” scholarship for local students pursing careers in law enforcement , medicine and first responders .

VETERANS PROGRAMS : Supporting local initiatives on Cape Cod like the Sandy Neck 4 Vets that assists veterans through the emotional healing process of recovering from war .

MILITARY FAMILIES: Funds for emergency assistance to local families and wounded warriors facing hardship .
