My Story…
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for visiting my 2026 "Team Vibrant Vali” Falmouth Road Race fundraising page! This iconic 7 mile race along Cape Cod’s beautiful oceanfront will take place for its 54th year on Sunday, August 16th.
For those that don’t know me, my name is Michelle and I am mom to Valerie, my spunky, newly 12 (!!!) year old daughter. Vali is an amazing big sister, a determined and hardworking ingoing 7th grader, and an empathetic friend who has never met a stranger! She was also born with Myelomeningocele, the most severe type of Spina Bifida. Valerie’s Spina Bifida has an impact on our day to day lives, and she has persevered through more trials already than most will ever have to face. However, she continues to take each obstacle in stride, and does not let her disabilities define her!!! I am so proud to be her mommy, and so it is my honor to come alongside the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England (SBAGNE) by running with their charity team for my 5th year in a row! The event and camping on Cape Cod for the weekend has truly become one of the highlights of our summer.
Although I have not been formally fundraising for this years race due to having just finished my 2026 Boston Marathon campaign for SBAGNE only a few short months ago, I did still want to share this page with you all. I have been going back and forth on whether or not to do this for the last several days, but ultimately I've come to the conclusion that it never hurts to ask or share, right?! This being said, in case you were not in a position to donate to my Boston campaign this spring, but might have the means to do so comfortably now - or maybe you've only just recently met our family and didn't know about my fundraising - I wanted to let you know the door to donate is officially wide open!!
I cannot thank all my village - family, friends, neighbors, school staff and everyone in between - for ALL your efforts and contributions to SBAGNE this year already, and every year since I started my fundraising efforts for the organization in 2022. You know this is a cause I am passionate about, and the opportunity to ask for your support once more is tugging on my heartstrings a bit as we just celebrated Vali's milestone 12th birthday - her last year before officially becoming a teenager! I can hardly believe it!!
Thank you so much for reading, and for your consideration. Of course, please do not feel obligated - times are tough out there but if you have the means to comfortably donate or maybe would like to share this page, it would be so very appreciated.. and a total bonus after we already had such a fantastic campaign together this spring! I can't thank you all enough for always being so supportive of my endeavors; whether by monetary donations or prayers, as I seek to support SBAGNE's mission of helping to build a better and brighter future for all impacted by Spina Bifida - including my Vali girl!!
The impact and opportunities these funds will create for the organization and for families and kiddos like mine across New England are paramount!
With much love - Michelle
