I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to END ALZ!
Why I Run:
This year, I am incredibly honored to be running the Falmouth Road Race for the second time as a member of Team End ALZ. My passion for Alzheimer’s awareness, research, and support for individuals and families affected by this devastating disease has only grown stronger over the years.
I am running in memory of my father, George, whose life ended far too soon due to complications from Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. My dad lived life entirely on his own terms. He lived big, loved hard, and always had an even bigger story to tell. If you knew him, you know exactly what I mean😂. He was the proud father of six daughters and a devoted grandfather to fourteen grandchildren. Alzheimer’s may have taken many things from him, but it could never take away the impact he had on the people who loved him.
This year, I am also running in honor of someone very special to me: Ellen, my sister’s mother-in-law. Over the years, I have grown incredibly fond of Ellen and recently, due to the progression of her Alzheimer’s disease, she was placed in a memory care facility.
As a fellow healthcare worker, Ellen spent her career serving others. She worked as a social worker, with much of her later career dedicated to caring for individuals in the community through VNA and community-based services. She spent decades helping aging adults, many of whom struggled with memory impairment and dementia. Now, the roles have reversed and she is the one receiving care.
I run for my father.
I run for Ellen.
I run for every family navigating the heartbreak, uncertainty and challenges that Alzheimer’s brings.
And if I’m being completely honest, I run for all of us—including my future self.
Research matters. Resources matter. Caregivers matter. Families matter. We need continued funding to advance treatments, improve care and one day find a cure.
My fundraising goal this year is $4,000, and I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every dollar makes a difference, and no donation is too small.
So break out the checkbook, dig through the couch cushions for loose change, swipe that credit card, or send a Venmo. 😜
You know I can do it.
You know I can do it faster this year.
Let’s Go Falmouth! 💪🏻💜💪🏻💜
Thank you for supporting Team End ALZ and helping us move closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
