My Story…
Losing a parent at any age is not easy. My father passed away in January 2025. It was sudden and life changing. I was a grown adult, but he was still my father. Recently, the Town that I live in lost two amazing fathers way too young. They left behind six incredible children. It is in their honor that I choose to run the race this year.

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2026 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is a nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
