My Story…
Here we go again… Falmouth is quickly sneaking up on me this year.
I am thankful for Ryann and Will who remain “healthy” and amazing. I am thankful for all of the time we have had together this past year. It certainly has not been an easy year. THEY. ARE. MY. REASON.
My heart warrior, Will, continues to excel in school and crushed his first year of middle school. He received the student of the term award the second term this year. His kindness and always being a gentleman never goes unnoticed. He also brings a smile and grit to the ice nearly every weekend for close to 40 weekends per year. He also enjoys some time on the basketball court and baseball diamond but those are things he just dabbles in.
He’s very aware that he needs a pulmonary valve, sooner than later. He faces every cardiology visit with bravery and dignity and when the time comes for the pulmonary valve I know he’ll do the same.
Ryann breezed through her first year of high school all while managing a sport every season and also maintained a 4.1 GPA. She aspires to be a cardiac surgeon (!!!) and has been to the operating room twice this past year to observe open heart surgery (at the age of 15!! And waking up before 5am on her days off. That’s what I call dedication). Club softball is certainly her thing and she brings the right attitude to the field. Always. She also enjoys time on the volleyball and basketball courts.
So, once again I’m asking for donations for The Heart Warrior Foundation which The DiFava family and we (Ryann, Will and I), created to help ease some of the hospital stressors CHD families go through while being impatient, to put a smile on the brave heart warriors faces, to recognize the bravery the CHD siblings face and to honor the heart angels. Thank you in advance for your generous donation.
