My Story…
I've always believed that taking care of your mental health shouldn't wait until things fall apart. That's why, when my school offered free preventative therapy sessions, I jumped at the chance — not because I was struggling, but because I wanted to stay that way. It's been one of the best decisions I've made, and honestly I feel very lucky to have had that option.
Not every young person does.
This August, I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for YouthConnect — a program that originated as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston that partners with the Boston Police Department to bring free, trauma-responsive mental health and social services directly to youth who need them most. Their licensed clinical social workers offer immediate support and lasting connections that help families build stable, hopeful futures.
The need is real: 65–70% of youth in contact with the juvenile justice system have a diagnosable mental health disorder. Those aren't bad kids — they're kids who never got the kind of support I was fortunate enough to access. YouthConnect's services are free, voluntary, and confidential, and they meet young people wherever they're most comfortable — at school, at home, or in the community — removing the barriers that keep so many families from getting help.
My goal is to raise $2,000 by August. Every dollar goes toward making sure more teens across Greater Boston have access to the kind of care that can genuinely change the course of their lives. I'd love your support at any level — thank you so much for considering it.
