I'm running the 54rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
2026 marks 40 years since I first ran Falmouth. I'm inspired by friends like Jim Dunn, who back in 1986 found me a summer job on the Cape, leading to my first Falmouth. Jim was an avid cyclist and annually participated in the PMC, before later contracting cancer and passing away in 2011 shortly after retiring from the Barnstable Police Department. I'm excited to participate as a fundraiser for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
