My Story…
Friends and Family,
I’m honored to be running the Falmouth Road Race as part of Team PF3, supporting the Peter Frates ALS Foundation. My connection to this cause is multifaceted.
Pete was a college baseball player and a Boston College graduate, both of which I can relate to. Yet he was unfortunate to be affected by a disease so difficult to see, and even more difficult to treat. I know this in part because I studied Neuroscience in my undergraduate career, at which time I remember the Ice Bucket Challenge taking the country by storm, for a cause we may not have all realized was so crucial at that moment. About the same time, I had a family member diagnosed with and significantly suffering from a neurodegenerative disorder. Seeing Pete's resiliency, observing his tragedy turn into positivity, was a reminder to find each day meaningful and strive to be the best you can be.
Running the Falmouth Road Race for Team PF3 is an opportunity to contribute to a foundation making a true impact, while doing something I feel privileged to be able to do - RUN.
