Our story…
The Lurie Center for Autism at Mass General Brigham in Lexington, Massachusetts, is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program devoted to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental conditions across the lifespan. Through integrated clinical care, research, training, and advocacy, the center works to advance understanding and improve the lives of those affected by developmental differences.
At the heart of the Lurie Center’s philosophy is the belief that every person with a developmental disability is an individual with unique strengths, perspectives, and needs. The center is committed to ensuring that all individuals—regardless of economic, social, or cultural background—have equitable access to the services and support necessary to reach their fullest potential.
Funds raised through the ASICS Falmouth Road Race directly support the Lurie Center’s Family Support Team, an essential resource that helps patients and families navigate the complex medical, therapeutic, educational, and everyday decisions involved in caring for someone with autism. From assistance with insurance and school services to guidance on adult programs or sibling support, this team ensures that families have compassionate, knowledgeable help whenever they need it. Each year, the Family Support Team responds to nearly 7,500 calls and provides more than 4,500 follow-up consultations to families seeking support.
As autism diagnoses continue to increase, the need for specialized care continues to grow. In the past year alone, the Lurie Center conducted more than 10,000 patient visits. However, insurance reimbursements cover less than half of the clinic’s operating costs, making philanthropic support critical to maintaining and expanding these services.
This year, every donation goes even further. Thanks to the generosity of the Nancy Lurie Marks Foundation, all contributions will be matched dollar for dollar—doubling the impact of each gift and helping ensure that more families receive the care, guidance, and hope they need.
