Our story…

The Lurie Center for Autism/MGB, based in Lexington, MA, is an integrated, multidisciplinary program dedicated to the care of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental conditions throughout the lifespan. The center’s mission encompasses clinical care, research, training, and advocacy—working collaboratively to improve the lives of those affected by developmental disorders.

The Lurie Center’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual with a developmental disability deserves to be seen as a unique person, with their own strengths and challenges. Each person should have equitable access to the quality and scope of services necessary to reach their fullest potential—regardless of economic, social, or ethnic background.

Proceeds from the ASICS Falmouth Road Race support the Family Support Team at the Lurie Center, a vital consultative resource that helps patients and families navigate the complex medical, therapeutic, and everyday life decisions that come with caring for someone with autism. Whether families need guidance on insurance, educational services, adult programs, or sibling support, donor generosity ensures that compassionate help is always just a phone call away. Each year, the Family Support Team answers nearly 7,500 calls and provides over 4,500 follow-ups to families in need.

As autism diagnoses continue to rise, so does the demand for specialized care. In the past year alone, the Lurie Center completed more than 10,000 patient appointments. Yet, health insurance reimbursements cover less than half of the clinic’s operating costs—making charitable support essential to sustaining these critical services.

This year, every contribution has twice the impact. Thanks to the generous support of the Nancy Lurie Marks Foundation, all gifts will be matched dollar for dollar—doubling the power of your donation and helping more families receive the care, guidance, and hope they deserve.
