Team Hoyt's Story and Lasting Legacy
Team Hoyt carries forward the spirit of Dick and Rick Hoyt — the iconic father-son racing duo whose story transformed the world’s perceptions of inclusion in sports. What began with a request from young Rick, born with cerebral palsy and unable to walk, to his father to push him in a local charity race, grew into a global movement fueled by the powerful message: “YES YOU CAN.”
That message has not only inspired millions but also challenged and reshaped perceptions of what is possible for individuals with disabilities.

Since its inception in 1989, The Hoyt Foundation has granted more than $2.5 million to empower young people with disabilities to participate fully in every aspect of life - at home, in school, in the workplace and especially through sports!
Through Team Hoyt, our Falmouth Road Race athletes raise funds to support our mission of inclusion and serve as passionate ambassadors spreading the “YES YOU CAN” message that continues to inspire others worldwide.
