My Story…
This will be our fourth time participating in the Run, Walk, Roll event! A huge accomplishment in 2025 for Jenny was getting more comfortable with public transit and independently commuting. This year, we're looking for support from folks who want to walk with us, donate, or join our team to help us reach our goal. The Brain Injury Alliance gives so much to the community and support for these programs in any fashion goes a long way.
In addition to unlocking public transit, Jenny continues to adopt her Lectric e-trike to leverage Tempe's bike lanes and put a little wind in her hair.
For those who don't know the full story -
Jenny suffered a hemorrhage from a ruptured AVM in her brain in May of 2019. She had just started her own business and was pursuing her PhD in social work. After 3.5 long months in the hospital and a short stay in an inpatient rehabilitation facility, she came home at the end of September, just in time for her birthday.
The years have been challenging but Jenny never quit and continues to push herself each and every day in pursuit of her purpose and passions. This event helps remember that community and support is so important in the recovery of TBI, and that beating the odds is possible with a mixture of help and determination.
