I’m running in the Pride and Remembrance Run in support of Sunshine Centres for Seniors and the 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults we serve. Every week, I see firsthand how vital these programs are - many of our seniors faced a lifetime of stigma, loss, and isolation, and now rely on spaces like our Rainbow Seniors programs for connection, joy, and community. For some, this is the only place they feel truly seen and supported. This run is also about remembrance: honouring those we’ve lost, especially during the HIV/AIDS crisis, and ensuring their legacy lives on through care and compassion.
