Why I RUN for WUN
Running for a Cause That Matters
I’m proud to be running to raise awareness and funds for Wake Up Narcolepsy, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by narcolepsy.
My family and I have supported this cause for many years, and it has become especially meaningful to me through my relationship with a colleague whose son is living with this rare disease. Watching their family navigate the challenges that come with a rare diagnosis has given me an even deeper understanding of the importance of awareness, support, research, and advocacy.
I’m running in honor of their son and all those living with narcolepsy. For families facing a rare disease, having a community that understands, resources they can turn to, and an organization advocating on their behalf can make an enormous difference.
Each mile I run represents something bigger than the race itself. It represents hope, perseverance, and the belief that no family should have to face a rare disease alone. It is also my way of standing beside my colleague, his son, and the many other individuals and families whose lives have been touched by this disease.
I hope you’ll join me in supporting this important cause. Every donation helps Wake Up Narcolepsy continue its work to provide support, increase awareness, advance research, and advocate for the rare disease community.
Thank you for supporting me—and, more importantly, for supporting the families who inspire every step of this journey.
Together, we can make every mile matter.
Description
Subject: I’m Running the Seattle Marathon for Wake Up Narcolepsy
Hi [Name],
I’m excited to share that I’ll be participating in the Seattle Marathon as part of Team RUN for WUN, raising funds for Wake Up Narcolepsy (WUN).
WUN is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness, advancing education, funding research, and supporting people affected by Narcolepsy and Idiopathic Hypersomnia. Since their founding in 2008, this organization has supported thousands of individuals throughout their sleep disorder journeys – one step at a time.
I’m running this race because I believe in WUN and I want to make a difference for individuals and families affected by rare sleep disorders.
Every donation—no matter the size—helps fund critical research, provides educational resources and enables peer support and connection. If you are able, please support me and Wake Up Narcolepsy with a gift of any size.
Thank you for cheering me on and for considering a donation. Your support means a great deal to me and to the Wake Up Narcolepsy community.
With gratitude,
[Your Name]
