My Story…
As the wife of an Alberta Sheriff, I have seen firsthand the dedication, sacrifice, and resilience that first responders bring to their work every day. While many people see the uniform, they don't always see the emotional toll that comes with protecting and serving our communities. First responders are often exposed to traumatic events, high-stress situations, and immense pressure, all while continuing to show up for others when they are needed most.
Mental health struggles can affect anyone, and first responders face unique challenges that can increase their risk of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and suicide. Behind every badge is a person, and behind every first responder is a family that loves and supports them.
I am participating in this race to help raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support programs that provide critical mental health resources and suicide prevention initiatives for first responders and their families. Every dollar raised helps make a difference and sends a powerful message: no one has to face their struggles alone.
Thank you for supporting this cause that is deeply personal to me. Together, we can help ensure that those who spend their lives taking care of others receive the care and support they deserve.
Please consider donating and helping us support the mental health and well-being of our First Responders.
