Help Simone raise money

Every shift in the emergency department reminds me how quickly life can change. As an ER nurse, I’ve had the privilege of caring for people on some of the hardest days of their lives, witnessing incredible resilience and strength. I’ve also had the privilege of meeting and working with some amazing healthcare providers and first responders.

This year, I’m running a half marathon to raise funds for Wounded Warriors Canada, an organization that provides life-changing mental health support to veterans, first responders, and their families. 

I am running in memory of a dear coworker who, without fail, showed up in every sense of the word at 0245 every shift. 

Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the challenges you face, and the compassion you show. This run is, in part, a way to honor you and so many others who have given so much in service to others. 

The 21.1 kilometres we will run are temporary. For many of the people Wounded Warriors Canada serves, the physical and psychological wounds they carry can last a lifetime. I hope that every step, every cheer and every dollar raised can help provide hope, healing, and support to those who have sacrificed so much for our community.
