My Story…
Hi, I'm Lisa, a long-term Stage IV Lung Cancer survivor/advocate. I was diagnosed quite unexpectedly in 2015 with what first started as a sudden onset of neurological changes - an urgent head CT found a brain tumor and I was immediately hospitalized. Further testing determined it was a brain metastasis from Non-small Lung cancer.
Today, I am NED (No evidence of disease) and have been for over 8 years, happily living each day to it's fullest thanks to immunotherapy which was a brand new treatment option after I progressed on Chemo in my first year
I'm proud to be a patient at MGH and honored to participate in this Walk to raise funds for the Mass General Cancer Center for Thoracic Cancer Research and to honor Diane Legg's legacy. Research and new treatments are vital to saving lives.
