This September, Eileen's Beachcombers will be making waves for pancreatic cancer awareness as we take part in the Kicking PancreAS 5K in support of Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society.

We walk in memory of Eileen Nelson, whose life continues to inspire us every day.

💜 The treasure we remember

Eileen was known for her kindness, humour, style, sense of adventure, and a smile that could light up any room. She loved travelling, collecting treasures, and creating memories with the people she loved, especially at our family's happy place, affectionately known as "the beach."

In 2014, pancreatic cancer entered her life and, far too quickly, changed ours forever. From spring until Christmas, we treasured every moment we had together. Eileen spent those final months at the beach she loved, just across the field from our family's cottage, just as she had every summer, allowing us to spend precious time together and create memories we will always cherish.

There, she showed us what it meant to truly live: embracing each day with joy, grace, courage, and gratitude for life's simple moments, even in the face of unimaginable challenges. Those memories continue to inspire us and are a big part of why we walk each year for Craig's Cause.

While many years have passed, our reason for walking remains the same: to honour Eileen and help create better outcomes for other families facing this devastating disease.

We're not just showing up to walk. We're walking to honour Eileen's memory, celebrate the life she lived, and help create a future where more families have hope.

Our family is aiming to raise $1,000 for Craig's Cause. If we reach that goal, we'll keep going and see how much impact we can make together.
